Magical Malta

Hello Lovelies!

Hope you are all well and had a great weekend.  Todays post is focused on Malta.

I spent a week on a family holiday there recently to celebrate my Grandads 80th Birthday.  No one in the family had been before so it was a great experience.

I was in charge of booking so i did my trip advisor research and booked the DB San Antonio hotel in Buggiba.  It is a beautiful hotel! Great for families.  We paid a little extra so we all had sea view rooms and it was worth it! Lovely view, it’s amazing waking up and looking out to sea!

The hotel is beautifully designed and is in a fab location!.  They will be doing weddings on the rooftop terrace from this year onwards – a great spot for a wedding if you’re looking for a ceremony with a view!

The area really was so nice! We enjoyed many hours sat in the sun in the square sipping on cocktails watching the world go by!  Love those beautiful relaxing moments on holiday where you can sit and laugh with friends and family. A moment in time that will become a beautiful memory!

If you are a foodie then Malta is the place for you.  They pride themselves on great food in Malta and boy do they deliver.  I picked a restaurant called Lovage to go for a special meal for my Grandads birthday night.  It is a beautiful place, geared more towards fine dining.  The menu there is fantastic, if you’re going to Buggiba then definitely take the time to have a meal here.

I am a bit of history geek! I love visiting historical sites and learning about the past and the cultures of places so of course with all the history in Malta i was in my element.  We took a family day trip to the capital Valletta and it was beautiful.  A bustling place with great architecture and really nice shops.  There are some great stores in Malta if you’re a fan of shopping (What woman isn’t ay! lol)  If you’re in Valletta then you absolutely need to visit St. Johns cathedral its stunning.

A trip to Mdina is also a must if you’re visiting Malta.  It’s amazing!  It’s a walled city where there are no cars allowed apart from residents.  It really is stunning! Amazing architecture.  We had lunch in gorgeous restaurant Palazzo De Piro which can also be hired for weddings.  It’s an amazing spot with gorgeous views of Malta.  Bacchus is also a great place to visit in Mdina.  A unique restaurant which also caters for weddings.
