Venue spotlight: The Mount Hotel
As promised i am kicking off the venue spotlight series with one of my favourite local venues, The Mount Hotel in Tettenhall.
So to start off with a little history of the venue, it was acquired by the Mander family in 1890 for £5000 and they extensively refurbished it. They then went on to build Wightwick Manor which is located down the road, it’s a stunning manor house and shares many design features with The Mount Hotel. The Mount was built for comfort and entertainment and this is still evident today. The Mount was sold in 1952 by the Mander family and was turned into the luxury hotel it is today.
There are 3 places in the hotel licensed for civil ceremonies, The Great Hall, The Manders Suite and also the Garden.
The Great Hall really is an absolutely breathtaking room, it holds 150 people for ceremony and up to 125 seated for a wedding breakfast. I have seen this room decked out for a wedding and it looks truly amazing! It’s a great choice for anyone looking for a beautiful, detailed and truly special room for a wedding. It feels almost regal and has beautiful views out over the garden and a lovely gallery up above the room.
The Manders Suite can seat 100 for a civil ceremony and a wedding breakfast. This is a perfect choice for a smaller more intimate wedding. As with everywhere in this lovely hotel the room is a beautiful choice for a wedding.
There aren’t many venues in the West Midlands that can offer garden weddings but The Mount can do just that. A gorgeous pavilion stands in the stunning grounds and can host your ceremony! The gardens at The Mount really are lovely, very manicured and peaceful so being able to have your ceremony in the gardens will truly be unforgettable.

A bonus of getting married at hotel is of course that your guests wont have far to travel once the celebrations are finished if they wish to book a room. The Mount has 65 rooms available, ranging from rooms to suites, they also offer preferential rates for your wedding guests (included breakfast! Bonus!). The gorgeous bridal suite is also complimentary for the happy couple!(Double bonus).
There is a great choice of foods available for the wedding breakfast and for the evening buffet including dishes such as roast sirloin of beef, breast of chicken, pan-fried pork medallions and vegetarian options. You do also have an option to meet with the chef to discuss serving dishes of your choice. They can even serve bacon butties to your guests from 11pm! Woohoo!!… With drinks packages, canapés and added extras on offer The Mount really does cover pretty much all options.
I recently paid a visit to The Mount and met with the events planner and i had a great time there. Just walking into the gorgeous reception area you automatically feel the history and elegance of the building. The bar area, although more modern still is in keeping with the feeling of the hotel. It was a sunny day when i visited so i sat out on the decking area with a glass of prosecco and had a little wander around the gardens whilst i was there! It was actually like being in another world, it was so peaceful and beautiful out there.
The Mount is located on the outskirts of Wolverhampton. Sitting on top of a hill in a quieter more upmarket area it really does feel like you are miles away from a city. I have had the pleasure of getting to know the events team at the mount and they really will go above and beyond to ensure you have the perfect day.
