Seaside chic has fast become a popular style over the past few years and its a style that i absolutely love. There are so many interpretations of this style dependant on the personal tastes of the couple. I love the nautical style with the anchors, blue and white stripes & yacht feel, I also love the more chic approach with more of a muted colour palate and gorgeous shell decor. These styles are particularly amazing at a beach side wedding but they can work for sea lovers who are having a more inland wedding venue. In today’s post I will be giving you some style tips on how to achieve these looks.
Lets firstly go with Nautical. This look is more of an association with boats, yachts, the sea itself etc., The traditional nautical colours of Navy & White should be used for this look, consider adding Gold touches into the look to add the element of Chic into the nautical look. A gorgeous striped navy and white table runner would look amazing with some Gold cutlery and Gold rimmed wine glasses. I also love the idea of the Mr & Mrs life saving rings hung on the back of the chairs! The nautical look is actually quite simple to pull together and can be done without a huge cost as there is so many gorgeous nautical things on offer in the high street.
Lets look at few decor options:
This Sailors wheel would look fab hung near a candy buffet station or even a seafood station. You can also consider this as chair decor for the Bride & Groom. Its £8 from Matalan so not a bad price at all.
I have also found some amazing decor items from Etsy These are a few of my favourite items that would be perfect for the nautical feel.
I also absolutely adore this amazing invitation from Zazzle
It is perfect for a nautical theme and gives your guests that little hint about what to expect at your wedding!
I also recommend checking out Live Laugh Love as they have some great nautical accessories. The trick with this theme is to ensure you really get the details, this isn’t a style you can only do a little of otherwise it will look odd. You can create some amazing centerpieces – anything ranging from lighthouses to flowers surrounded by Shells and ropes. Starfish and anchors are a must to work this theme.
Next up is Seaside Chic. This is more neutral in colour tones – more of champagnes, creams etc., and has a more chic feel. The focus is more on elegant decor choices – seashells, elegant flowers, beachy vibes. One of my favourite looks is white table linen with seashell decor in the centrepiece and candles on the table. I think keeping the seaside look is very important so elegant cakes with a seaside feel is amazing. If you are having a wedding on the beach then of course this look is absolutely perfect.
