Bridal Extravagance – Galia Lahav
There are many beautiful bridal design houses out there but every once in a while a design house pops up and starts to change the face of how we see wedding dresses, Galia Lahav has done just that.
Wedding gowns, much like all aspects of fashion are constantly changing with new styles, shapes and materials gaining popularity. This in turn brings about rises in popularity of designers. There has been a surge in popularity for Galia Lahav in the UK this year much brought about by a change in brides requirements for their dresses.
Galia Lahav is a couture design house specialising in luxury gowns. You may well come to recognise her designs, they are famous for the illusion back, intricate detailing and sheer panelling. All Galia’s dresses are handmade in Israel by the best seamstresses. Galia herself was born in Russia and has over 30 years of establishment in haute couture dresses. Her studio is located in Tel Aviv, Israel. Her gowns can be found in over 40 stores around the world and she is considered one of the world’s leading designers for lavish gowns. She has gained even more popularity in the UK after designing Michelle Keegan’s dress for her wedding to Mark Wright this year.
There are various different collections available from the designer. The most stunning evening gowns as well as Bridal gowns are available and are all made to measure dresses. I particularly love tales of the Jazz age collection, the dresses are stunning & elegant yet sexy & modern.
So here is the part you have been waiting for, the gowns! A Few of my favourite picks from the different collections starting with Les Reves Bohemians. This collection is romantic and mystical yet unbelievably gorgeous.
The next few you will see are my favourite picks from The tales of the jazz age collection. These are beautiful gowns inspired by the roaring 20’s.
Next up La Dolce Vita collection. As you have probably guessed from the name this collection is inspired by a love story on the Amalfi coast in Italy. This collection is a modern twist on the traditional styles of wedding gowns.
We also have the St Tropez cruise collection. The gowns have all the glamour & chic style of the gorgeous French coast.
The drama & luxury of the Homage to the sizzling 1920s collection is evident in the dress design. I love the incorporation of pearls onto some of these dresses, simply dazzling.
Finally a couple from The Lourdes Collection. This is inspired by nature and birds of paradise which you can really see from the exotic style the dresses ooze. There really are some amazing gowns in this collection.
So there we have it, a few of my top choices from the collections. Take a look on the Galia Lahav website to check out all the gowns in the various collections. If you are interested in a Galia Lahav wedding dress there are 2 locations in the UK where you can go to see them in all their glory, Serendipity Brides located in Northamptonshire and Browns in London. There is also the option of sending your measurements to the Galia Lahav studio in Israel and they will create your design and ship the dress over to you.
I hope todays Wedding Dress Wednesday post has given you some inspiration and it would be great to hear from any Brides who have worn a Lahav dress.
